My latest read is a romance novel that takes place in the mid-1800's and its gives all the feels! Written by Lindsay Chase, author of The Oath, The Vow is just as riveting and will keep your pages turning.
Author: Lindsay Chase
Book: The Vow
I literally couldn’t put this book down. I read it over the course of 3 days and I never (or rarely) do that. It was one thing after the other. Tears ran down my cheeks as I finished the last page. I feel like I got to live Hannah’s life. She was forced to marry someone who was madly in love with another and … well it goes downhill from there. And uphill and all over the place. Her story is set in the mid-1800’s on a silk mill in Connecticut.
While Lindsay did her research on this time period and location there was no boring information, dumps on the history of the silk industry, or anything dull about this book for that matter.
One of the many things I liked about this story was Hannah’s character arc. She starts out as a naive young lady who believes her place is at her un-loving husbands feet. BUT to get to watch her grow into a strong and powerful woman was super cool.
Heat Level: Medium. There were numerous sex scenes some were semi-descriptive but rather tasteful. I wouldn’t consider the book erotica.
